Inside Out Youth Group traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio, on their first domestic mission trip.  In all, 18 teens & adults served on this trip which was coordinated by Group Cares.  The trip was called “The Week of Hope” and was about changing the lives of those who are served as well as those who serve.

Itinerary

Our youth and staff performed practical, meaningful acts of community service for some very special people at River of Life Church in inner city Cincinnati. The mission opportunity was working with the local youth pastor to provide a “day camp” for the children and youth in the neighborhood. Averaging 30 or more children per day, it was our shared responsibility to make certain every child mattered. Moving around a daily schedule of play, games, devotions, Bible lessons, tutoring, meals, dance, discussions and group growing opportunities, we made new friends, created new memories and had a wonderful time together.

On-site showering facilities. Cold and bugs! Blessed to find a state park nearby willing and able to accommodate us!

Sleeping accomodations in a Sunday School classroom.

Our eating and meeting accomodations at the host church in Batavia, Ohio.

More new friends with Youth Pastor Gordon.

Praise and Worship time

Daily lunch in a nearby park.

Basketball in the “gym.”

The “dreaded” 9 Square game!

“Leaving our Hands to Help You Hold on to His.” We prepared a wall hanging with all of our hands drawn on the sheet along with words of encouragement to express our continuing love for them in our absence.

Nearly time to say “Goodbye.”
