The Family Unit is Important to us! At DHC, we do what we do with THE FAMILY in mind. God created us to be part of a FAMILY. The FAMILY is special to God & it should be special to us too!

Anointing With Oil

Following the words of James 5:13-16, we practice anointing for healing. As Scripture states, one who is sick physically, mentally, emotionally and/or spiritually, they are to call for the Elders who will anoint and pray over someone for God’s healing touch.

Baptism

The first step after accepting Christ as one’s personal Savior is to follow in His steps through the act of baptism by immersion. We offer a four week preparation Bible study prior to baptism to help you understand the fullness of this act of commitment and service. A Certificate of Baptism is provided.

Communion

Bread and cup communion is generally offered three times per year at DHC. It is offered on Easter Sunday, mid-summer and twice at Christmas.

Love Feast

A full communion service that reenacts the Upper Room Passover of Jesus and His disciples is available on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week (Thursday before Easter Sunday). This service includes the service of footwashing, the common meal, and the act of communion.

Marriage

Of all the institutions on earth which have the possibilities for good, there is none so important as the home. That’s just one of the reasons why God ordained the marriage between a man and a woman. We may be able to conduct weddings with a minimum of six months advance notice along with the successful completion of pre-marital counseling.

Membership

While formal membership is not required to be a part of the DHC family, many people seek to have a place they can formally call their “spiritual home.” One can become a member at any time but we offer a formal Membership Sunday as needed.

Service of Child Dedication

Upon the birth of a child, parents are invited to have their child dedicated to the Lord and to have themselves consecrated to bring up their child in the ways of the Lord. Parents are given a Certificate of Child Dedication and the first Bible for their child. A special cross with Jeremiah 29:11 engraved on it is given as well.
